The motorbike racing season determined the wedding date for professional rider Denver Robb and his beautiful new bride Lynsey.
Lynsey (30), a fitness instructor from Saintfield, met Denver in February of 2006 at a fundraiser in Ballynahinch.
“I was with my parents, who are big motorbike followers,” Lynsey said. “I thought Denver was with his girlfriend, but it turned out to be his sister.
“He came over, asked me for my number and we started going out.”
Romance blossomed and then, last year, Denver got down on one knee and proposed at the couple’s home near Randalstown on his birthday, October 7.
“I wasn't expecting it at all,” added Lynsey. “I had just given him his birthday presents and then he told me he had a something for me.
“He was just back from racing in Germany and I had helped him
book his flights, so I thought, perhaps, it was a bunch of flowers.”
Denver (34) had bought a stunning diamond engagement ring and Lynsey happily agreed to be his wife.
“It was beautiful,” said Lynsey. “The ring is something I would have picked myself.
“The wedding had to fit in with the end of the racing season, so the autumn was perfect for us.”
The couple were married on November 4 in front of 144 guests at Down Cathedral in Downpatrick.
Their wedding photographs were taken at Dundrum Castle before the reception at the Burrendale Country Club and Spa in Newcastle. Each table at the wedding reception was named after something that held a special meaning to the couple — including Barcelona, Bishsopscourt, Kirkistown and NW200.
“We had a fantastic day,” added Lynsey. “The service was very intimate and the reception was great.
“My mum and sister were a great help to me. The sun was shining and everything was perfect.”
The couple are just back from a sun-drenched honeymoon in Cuba.
They are enjoying married life and looking forward to visiting New York in the new year.
No matter how stringently your loved ones warn you, that won't stop you pursuing a romantic interest. You're utterly captivated by someone who exudes warmth, charisma and drama. The two of you get along very well, but beware of the financial toll this relationship will take. The object of your affection likes expensive things. If you're not able to provide them with the luxuries they crave, there will be problems. Then again, you have the potential for being a good provider, so all may be well.More
