Mark and Aine McMaw, from Co Londonderry, kicked off married life in style — tying the knot on the biggest party night of the year.
Mark (28), an architectural technician, and Aine (29), a senior care assistant, both from Magherafelt, married on New Year's Eve at the Magherabuoy House Hotel in Portrush.

They first met in 2003 when they worked together at the same pub in their home town.
“He was working as a barman and I was a waitress,” Aine said. “He chased me for six weeks before I agreed to go out with him!”
The couple fell in love and were engaged in August 2010 at Mark's mother's house. Romantic Mark had laid out candles in the garden and proposed to Aine with a beautiful engagement ring.
“Mark's grandmother had died a few days |before,” Aine added. “I had been there for him, visiting the hospital, and that was when he decided he wanted to propose.”
The couple's wedding service and reception both took place the the Magherabouy House Hotel, with the service conducted by the Rev Fred Munce.
The McMaws’ first dance as husband and wife was to Jason Mraz’s I Won't Give Up and Aine felt wonderful in the beautiful dress designer Kerry Madden created for her.
“Kerry and I came up with the dress I had always wanted,” Aine said. “She did a fabulous job. Everybody says your wedding day is the happiest day of your life, but it genuinely was for us.
“At the end of the night we were looking at the smiles on everyone's face and they were |genuinely happy for us.”
The new Mr and Mrs McMaw headed to Galway for a few days on ‘mini-moon’ and will be talking a Mediterranean cruise honeymoon later this year.
“Being married is very good,” Mark said.
Aine said: “It's definitely good. I am really enjoying it and I'm getting used to being called Mrs.”
