Love is in the air for a Belfast man who has proposed through the Get Connected pages of today’s Belfast Telegraph.
Billy McIlwaine (49) has left a heart-shaped message for his wife-to-be, which reads: ‘Gail Walker Will You Marry Me?’ and invites the bride-to-be to a Lisburn church on 15 June.
The couple originally met three years ago through an advert on the page, which helps people of all ages and walks of life to find their ideal partner.
The happy couple got engaged last year, but Billy has never had the chance to propose officially. He said: “Of course she wants that before our big day. She would be so shocked that I thought of this and she would find it very romantic.”
Joanne Uprichard from the Belfast Telegraph said: “This shows how (these pages have) made a real difference. It's a real Cilla moment.”
