Funnyman Patrick Kielty has sent an unconventional wedding blessing to his newlywed pals Andrea Corr and Brett Desmond.

The comedian was among the 250 guests who watched the pair tie the knot in a no-expense-spared bash at Doonbeg resort in Clare over the weekend, as the singer married the son of billionaire Dermot Desmond.

And the TV star obviously made it a night to remember, judging by his Twitter update about the couple's big day, which was attended by luminaries including Bono, Ali Hewson and golfer Padraig Harrington.

"Dear Mr & Mrs Desmond. May married life bring U as much joy as my Friday night. And your kids as much of a headache as my Saturday mornin (sic)," he wrote.

But while there was no doubting that Andrea left everyone 'breathless' in her Vera Wang creation, Patrick set tongues wagging himself after turning up with a mystery beauty.

Stylishly clad in a a pair of black pencil trousers and matching top, his stunning companion looked the epitome of elegance as she strolled into the church at St Joseph's Church in Miltown Malbay in Clare.

However, the couple were obviously determined to keep everyone guessing as to her identity, given that they both declined to reveal any information to the waiting photographers.

"A guy went up to her and asked for her name after he snapped the pair of them walking in the church, but she wouldn't say a word. She just smiled at the guy, so he couldn't even hear her accent. Patrick did the same thing when he asked him for the woman's name, he just looked away. A moment later, a security guy came up and ushered the photographer away so no one got her name," said a source.

Patrick was obviously a little flustered after nabbing such a hot date for the wedding, though. He revealed how he was in such a rush to get to the wedding in time, he forgot to take his cash from an airport ATM.

"I took the card and left the money in the Banklink," he said. Describing the day to listeners of BBC Radio 2, he said Andrea looked "absolutely gorgeous".

"She was like a little doll. She wore a little bodice top and it kind of flared out at the bottom. He wore a pink tie, I think that was good," he said.

No stranger to dating high-profile beauties, the comedian has previously stepped out with stunners such as Amanda Byram and was most recently linked with Jude Law's ex Sienna Miller.

He has also worked with some of the top TV beauties, during his time on programmes such as Celebrity Love Island, including Cat Deeley, Kelly Brook and Fearne Cotton.
