The summer of 2014 is proving to be an exciting one for us here at Kildare Village. We have planned a wealth of food and art-themed events to tempt your senses and enrich your shopping experience throughout August – and we invite you to a enjoy a ‘Day Trip to Chic’.
In essence, the best summer day trips are all about escaping the hum of the city and being excited by new and intriguing experiences. We daydreamed about outings in the sun, dressed in stylish summer attire and spending time with family and friends enjoying new experiences. This inspired us to create our ‘Top Five Day Trips to Chic’.
Working closely with fashion blogger Tara Marzuki, we selected five secret escapes across Dublin and Kildare. With the ‘CAST – Iconic Irish Bronze’ exhibition in residence at Kildare Village, Tara spent a creative and inspiring afternoon styling her favourite looks from our summer collections. While she chose her outfits, which were inspired by each of our top five locations, Tara stopped to enjoy an al fresco dining experience at The Kildare Village Kitchen, which showcases the very best of local Irish produce.
The ‘Day Trips to Chic’ took us from the Howth pier at sunset, through to daytime in the urban oasis at Grand Canal Docklands. Tara’s outfits mixed city looks in Francis Street with ladylike chic in Castletown House. She watched baby swans by the canal, led a sweet chestnut gelding through the long grass in Kildare and crossed the most peaceful red bridge in stunning heels while in the Japanese Gardens.
So be inspired. Watch Tara’s journey through our five chic locations and begin planning your very own day out. Over the course of the next four weeks we will bring you closer to each location with a unique video on each one, behind-the-scenes photography and special extras through the Kildare Village Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. We will also have great competitions and promotions to share with you throughout the summer, so make sure to check in on www.kildarevillage.com as we embark on our Day Trip to Chic.
