In my day: With Sonia Hutchinson from Bespoke Hair

By Staff Reporter

We quiz Sonia Hutchinson on the time of her life. She shares details about her career in Bespoke Hair, reveals how she met her husband, and tells us about becoming a mother.

Q: What was your decade?

The noughties were my most memorable decade - I was living in Belfast and started working in Bespoke Hair!

Q: What was life like?

Hectic and lots of fun! I worked and played hard. A favourite haunt of mine was Shine at the Queen's Students' Union which, incidentally, led me to meeting my husband Chris.

Q: What were you listening too?

I listened to Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and The Prodigy to name but a few.

Q: And the style?

The style was very much anything goes which suited me great as I loved everything bright and colourful. GHD straighteners were launched so the most popular hairstyle was straight and structured as opposed to what it is today, soft and bouncy.

Q: What has changed?

A lot has changed as I am now a proud mummy, so my life is still as hectic but in an entirely different way.

Q: What was better back then?

My life was quite carefree back then and I indulged in long lie-ins and attended fun parties, although I wouldn't change my life as it is now!
