No upsets in hurling qualifiers

Upsets were narrowly avoided on the opening day of hurling's qualifiers.

Tipperary came from behind to beat Offaly at Semple Stadium 2-17 to 2-13.

Clare held off Antrim to win on a scoreline of 3-21 to 2-15.

Galway beat Laois 3-20 to 1-14, while at Parnell Park, Cork dispatched Dublin 3-20 to 0-15.
