The United Nations headquarters in Gaza are in flames today after being hit by Israeli artillery fire during the country's ongoing military assault on the Palestinian territory.
Three workers are reported to have been injured in the attack, but the emergency services are unable to reach the building as gun battles are raging in the vicinity.
The UN has also halted the supply of aid to Gaza residents as trucks cannot leave the compound.
The head of the UN Relief and Works Agency, John Ging, says Israel used a white phosphorous shell during the strike on the building.
