Full of eastern promise

Talking about oil, it's good to see Northern Ireland companies managing to make waves in the Middle East.

Concrete Batching Systems' contract win is to be commended and is tapping in to a rich seam of the world's economy more isolated than most to the volatility in the eurozone.

Although the likes of Dubai and Saudi Arabia have suffered as a result of the global economic slowdown, they've been able to fall back on a staple commodity which has been the making of them in the last 50 years.

Although crude oil prices might have fallen back recently, at $95 a barrel energy companies in the region are still making a handsome profit.

If we're to chase after export business around the world then other firms could do a lot worse than head to the Middle East.
