Good to see Branson fighting for business
You've got to admire Richard Branson's spirit. Never one to shirk a fight, he's launched into the row over the West Coast Main Line train service with both feet, a couple of arms and his head.
It probably helps having the fire power of the Virgin Group behind him to immediately launch a counterattack of ferocious intensity. Not content with just taking the decision to award the contract to First Group to court, he's also said he'll run the route for free until parliament has time to review the case and announced he's going to start an air shuttle to compete on the London to Manchester route.
He built the Virgin brand from nothing more than a magazine. Whether he wins or not it's great to see how a proper entrepreneur fights for business.
