Belfast estate agency Gerry O'Connor is celebrating 25 years in business.

Set up by Gerry O'Connor and two members of staff in 1994 in Stranmillis, the company has grown over the years and in 2018 it boosted its staff numbers by one-third.

When the business was launched the average house price in Northern Ireland was £38,410. Today it is £139,410, with house prices here rising higher than elsewhere in the UK.

Mr O'Connor said the property market is showing signs of growth and added many things have changed over the years.

"While technology has dramatically changed, the business itself has also developed," the estate agent said.

Reflecting on the recession, he said the firm had become even stronger and added: "Property is a very competitive industry and this milestone represents a real sense of achievement in demonstrating our experience and expertise in the sector."
