Belfast hotel sector star of investor poll
Belfast has been named as the 'rising star' for hotel investment in the UK in 2018, according to a new poll.
And the city took the top spot in terms of 'revenue per available room growth', showing a 12.6% increase over the past four years.
According to the latest UK Hotels Market Index by Colliers, the city rose 16 places.
Colliers said the rise was due to the city's "relatively low land site prices".
The index is an analysis of 34 locations, ranked to determine the hot spots for hotel development and acquisition, based right across the UK.
Belfast ranked third overall with a score of 3.78, pipped to the post by Edinburgh (3.97) and Bath (3.90).
It also came out on top for cost of development, with a score of 4.38, which is calculated by combining the scores for land cost, build cost, 2017 occupancy and 2017 'average daily rate'.
