Top notch: Muddler's Club at Belfast’s Warehouse Lane

Fourteen Northern Ireland hospitality establishments were commended at the Irish Restaurant Awards on Monday.

Over 1,100 guests sat down to a black-tie gala dinner in Dublin to celebrate the hard work and achievements of those working in the Irish restaurant industry over the last 12 months.

The big winner was Belfast restaurant Muddler's Club, which was awarded Best Customer Service in all of Ireland.

Ox, Hara, Clenaghans and Tuk Tuk Asian Bistro were among the Ulster eateries recognised at the awards, while Newforge House in Co Armagh was named best Best Hotel and Guesthouse Restaurant in the province for the second year in a row.

John and Louise Mathers, proprietors of Newforge House were delighted with the win. They said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won Best Hotel and Guesthouse Restaurant in Ulster for the second year in a row! This award is fantastic recognition for the hard work that all our team put into delivering a relaxed, intimate and unique, dining experience."
