COFFEE chain Bob and Berts has said it's grown its sales to £8.3m as it opens new sites around the UK. The company, which started out in Portstewart, said sales in the 12 months to June 2019 reflected like for like growth and new openings. It has a total of 20 stores.

Four new sites were opened during the year, including three in Scotland.

Stores are also planned for Newry and Ballymena, among six new openings over the next year.

It was founded in 2013 by Colin McClean, with his brother-in-law David Ferguson later joining.

Expansion has followed backing by the Business Growth Fund (BGF).
