Catering firm Mount Charles, run by the Annon family, has opened its £1m Northern QTR food area at Belfast International Airport creating 30 new jobs.

The launch also gave the family the opportunity to promote awareness of a condition affecting Faye Annon, the four-year-old granddaughter of company founder Trevor Annon. Faye has rare bone marrow disorder Diamond-Blackfan anaemia (DBA).

Trevor said he also wanted to thank charities Angel Wishes and DBA UK for their support through Faye's illness. The family now say a bone marrow transplant is Faye's best option as the blood transfusions she has at present harm her internal organs.

"She is a remarkable little girl and I'm so proud to have her as my granddaughter," Mr Annon said.
