An old water pumping station in front of Belfast's Waterfront Hall could be turned into a restaurant under plans by its new owners.
The 1930s building on Oxford Street, which had been used by NI Water up until 2009, was put up for sale in 2016 with an asking price of around £100,000.
Its new owners are Marion and Peter Fairbairn, who run Blend and Batch in Banbridge. Opened in mid-2015, the Co Down coffee shop operates as a kitchen restaurant on Newry Street, specialising in handcrafted food, artisan beverages and home-style baking.
The couple have submitted a planning application to Belfast City Council to build a new two-storey extension on to the structure, and convert three floors, including a basement level, into a new restaurant.
