Starry heights for Bullitt Hotel as Belfast rooftop bar opens
The owners of Belfast's Bullitt Hotel have created 30 new jobs with a £1.75m investment in what they say is Ireland's largest rooftop bar.
The new space, called Babel, which includes an indoor bar, open-air terrace with views of Belfast, a retractable roof and a corner VIP room, has just opened its doors to the public. It's the latest development by Merchant Hotel-owner Beannchor.
It also features a 'living wall' made up of 300 fresh plants which will be used to garnish and flavour its wide cocktail range, as well as serving up small plates of south and east Asian cuisine.
And a new extension will see a further 31 bedrooms added to the hotel later this year, which will bring the total number to 74.
Conall Wolsey, director of Beannchor, said: "Our vision for the hotel was for it to be a place where people could work, relax and socialise and the new rooftop bar adds to this offering, transforming a formerly unused space into a vibrant new venue in the heart of the city centre."
