Two Northern Ireland hotels have been recognised as some of the best in the UK in TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice Awards 2018.
Bishop's Gate Hotel, located within the historic city walls in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter, Londonderry, ranked second in the list of 25.
It was built in 1899 for members of the local gentry who had fought in the Crimean War, and was known as the Northern Counties Club.
The boutique hotel has undergone a restoration programme that fully showcases the fine Victorian architecture; the results display high degrees of luxury and quality as can be seen in the residents’ lounge, restaurant and champagne and cocktail bar.
Tara Lodge Hotel, off Belfast's Botanic Avenue, ranked at number 11, up four places from last year.
The small, unassuming independent hotel opened in 1998 and its charms have won over its thousands of visitors ever since.
