£28m Camlin factory creating 300 jobs in Lisburn
A high-tech electrical manufacturer in Lisburn has announced nearly 300 new jobs as it opens a new £28m factory.
Camlin, which already employs around 300 people at its Ferguson Drive premises, produces engineering products for the electricity and rail industries.
Nearly 100 of the jobs are already in place.
Chief executive John Cunningham said: “This major investment is part of an ambitious and strategic growth plan deisgned to help us increase our global sales and market presence. Innovation through product development and training for our workforce has been a major focus for us as we work to position ourselves competitively to successfully enter new high value markets.”
Camlin was formerly known as Kelvatek.
In its most recently published results, for 2016, the company announced turnover of £25m and pre-tax profits of nearly £0.3m.
Economic development agency Invest NI has provided the firm with support including nearly £1m in research and development funding.
