Bullitt Hotel's new bar and extension creates 30 posts

By Emma Deighan

Thirty jobs are being created with a new bar and extension at the Bullitt Hotel in Belfast. A further 31 bedrooms will be added to the city centre spot amid the £1.75m expansion.

New rooftop bar and garden Babel will open on October 20, while the second phase, which includes the additional hotel rooms, is set to open later in the year.

The expansion will give way to the hotel’s first twin rooms, and the new jobs will bring employee numbers at the hotel to 130 in total.

Babel will have capacity for 250 people and will include an open-air terrace with panoramic city views. The bar includes an ‘interior living wall’ made up of 300 fresh plants and herbs and a vertical exterior garden wall that can be seen from ground level.

The herbs from the garden will be used to make up and garnish Babel’s ‘Shrub Cocktails’.  The venue will also be available for private hire and will serve south and east Asian-influenced cuisine. Conall Wolsey, director of owner Beannchor, said: “Bullitt Hotel has been hugely popular since it opened last October. The vision behind the hotel is for it to offer much more than a bed space, we want it to be a place where people come to work, come to relax and come to socialise.

“As well as the rooftop, we’ll be extending the bedroom offering with 31 new rooms.”
