GIA consultancy to open Belfast base with 16 posts
London-based surveying and design consultancy GIA is to open a new office in Belfast with the creation of 16 jobs.
Headquartered in the South Bank area of the capital, the company employs 150 staff between the city and Manchester.
GIA is the largest specialist adviser in the UK on issues surrounding light in the planning process.
The firm has been involved in major projects including The Gherkin and the Shard in London.
Kevin Francis, partner at GIA, said it will initially recruit rights of light surveyors and consultants.
He said the decision to open here follows rising demand for its services, particularly in relation to rights of light and planning matters.
"The existing range of skill sets available from the two great universities was a great incentive to establish a base in Belfast," he said.
