Medal honour for Northern Ireland's bright sparks in A-Level science

A Co Down pupil has walked away with a prestigious award for achieving top marks in A-Level science.

The Hans Sloane medal was presented to Jamie Brannigan, a former student of St Colman's College in Newry.

Second place went to Zara Hamill of Omagh Academy and third place to Rachel Mooney of Regent House in Newtownards.

At the awards ceremony in the Ulster Museum is Rachel Mooney, Tim Harrison of Almac, Jamie Brannigan, Sally Montgomery, a Hans Sloane Trustee, Miceal McCoy, chair of the board of trustees, National Museums NI, and Zara Hamill.

The Hans Sloane (Memorial Fund) Trust, in partnership with National Museums NI, was established in 1960.
