All-island fund for tech ideas now open

By Staff Reporter

An all-island programme for budding tech entrepreneurs under the age of 35 is open for entries.

The Ireland Funds Business Plan competition is open to recent graduates and under-35s with a technology business at pre-investment stage.

Entrants are asked to submit their business ideas for a chain to win €10,000 (£8,700) and the opportunity to pitch for a place on Ireland's early stage digital accelerator, NDRC.

Runners up can win sums of €5,000 (£4,400) and €1,000 (£900).

Gary Leyden, commercial director at NDRC, said: "Growing a culture of digital entrepreneurship is a key goal of NDRC and a competiton like this is a great way to start stimulating those individuals and teams who may have a good idea but are not sure of its potential."

Last year's winners were Sothic Bioscience, Glow Dx and UniTuition in number one, two and three positions respectively.
