Amber's green light to take on new staff


A GROWING green energy company has recruited six new people to meet the burgeoning demand for its renewable products.

Amber Green Energy has created the posts to sustain the company's rapid expansion into Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

Based in Moy and Belfast, Amber Green Energy helps clients plan and design sustainable green technologies for solar, anaerobic digestion, wind and combined heat and power.

Dwyer O'Neill, chief executive of Amber Green Energy, said recruitment included an operations manager, sales consultant, two new renewable energy consultants and administrative staff.

"Support from Invest NI through The Jobs Fund has supported our growth plans," he said.

Invest NI has offered Amber Green Energy £42,000.

Mary Gormley, Invest NI's western regional manager, encouraged similarly innovative companies to take up the assistance offered by The Jobs Fund."

She said over the past year more than 370 jobs were created through the initiative.
