Antrim architectural services firm Metal Technology has more than doubled its profits - rising to £3.69m.

The firm also saw its turnover rise to more than £17m for the year ending December 2014, with pre-tax profits rising from £1.78m to £3.69m.

The company, which produces aluminium products for windows, doors and curtain walling, also increased its staff numbers in the year - rising to 74 from 63.

Metal Technology Ltd has been behind a range of projects in Northern Ireland and across the UK. That includes the Park Inn in Belfast and Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.

In the firm's strategic report, included in its latest accounts, it said the results for the year and the financial position were "considered satisfactory by the directors who are targeting growth in the foreseeable future".

And the company said it has "successfully achieved its targeted turnover level during the past year".

"The aim in the current year will be to achieve a turnover level similar to the previous year."
