Arab unrest costs travel firm £1.5m

The owner of school trips firm PGL has said its adventure holidays arm faced a £1.5m hit to profits this year due to cancellations and lower bookings caused by uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa.

Holidaybreak said the firm, which includes the brand Explore, had a period of “very strong trading” prior to the disruption.
