Award-winning iPhone app is a fly-away success
One of the world's best-selling smartphone apps has picked up another award. Angry Birds, which claims Prime Minister David Cameron among its devoted fans, was named best game at the Appys. Developed in 2009 by Finland-based Rovio, the game lets users launch birds at pigs with a slingshot with the aim of destroying all the pigs on the playing field. It has a staggering 210 levels and requires a combination of logic and skill. Other winners include social networking site Facebook, which was named best time-waster.
