Belfast recruitment company moves into Asian market

A Belfast recruitment consultancy for the energy and environmental industries has opened a new office in Singapore.

Xellient received support from Invest NI to set up the office, which services clients across Asia.

Founder and managing director Cathy McCorry said: "The new office serves as a gateway for partnership opportunities with local skilled professionals and for forging new alliances across the continent."

Ms McCorry added: "Our decision was influenced by the very positive long-term outlook for oil and gas in Singapore. Strong economic trends in Asia-Pacific will continue to drive energy demand and thus expenditure on exploration and production activities.

"This is creating exciting business opportunities which will be better able to exploit by having an office in Singapore as success in this market is reliant on establishing relationships."

The consultancy employs five people in Belfast.
