Belfast retail agents Lambert Smith Hampton to run Birmingham centre

By Staff Reporter

Belfast commercial property agents Lambert Smith Hampton have been appointed to manage a shopping centre in England.

LSH will be managing agent for One Stop Shopping, a shopping centre and retail park in Birmingham.

The centre has just been acquired by London-based Sovereign Centros and Europa Capital from Standard Life.

Keith Shiells, director of Lambert Smith Hampton, said: "This is our first major management instruction from Sovereign Centros who, with more than £2bn of assets under management and a development programme of 4.5 million sq ft, are one of the fastest growing independent real estate companies in the UK."

One Stop Shopping is anchored by Asda, M&S Outlet and Wilko. Other retailers in the property include Nike, Argos, Boots, Sports Direct, New Look, Arcadia and Poundland.

Chris Geaves, chief executive of Sovereign Centros, said: "Sovereign Centros and Europa Capital are delighted to have acquired One Stop.

"The asset sits in an interesting area within Birmingham which is planned for significant change.

"We look forward to working with LSH as managing agents and taking our plans for the asset forward."

LSH also manages a range of other retail destinations across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, including Ards Shopping Centre in Newtownards.

It was also recently appointed as managing agent for the Tower Centre in Ballymena, which was recently acquired by Torre Limited Partnership backed by property developer Sam Morrison.

Ards Shopping Centre, which is owned by Belfast Office Properties, this month announced a 16% in footfall from September to November following the addition of new retailers JD Sports and TK Maxx.

Both opened in September following a major redevelopment on the site.
