A Belfast-based online ticket firm has landed a lucrative deal with the biggest start-up conference in the world.

Get Invited is set to partner with the Launch Festival - which takes place in San Francisco in March next year.

The massive tech event - which has previously boasted speakers as high-profile as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg - is set to attract around 12,000 visitors.

This year's keynote speaker is chief executive of LinkedIn, Jeff Weiner.

Belfast company Get Invited currently provides an online platform for event organisers, allowing users to buy tickets and register.

And the firm has also reached its own business milestone in just nine months - boasting £2.5 million in transactions through its system since it kicked off in February.

Aside from major international technology events, the company has also been used by fellow local start-up firms such as Brewbot.

It also provides tickets for the Northern Ireland technology industry's ever-burgeoning showcase and rock show hybrid, the Friday Night Mashup.

Get Invited's chief executive, Kyle Gawley welcomed the latest deal, which is the company's biggest to date.

"We are delighted that Launch has chosen to use our ticketing technology for the upcoming event," he said.

Since going live earlier this year, Get Invited has already been used by thousands of customers throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and the US.
