Belfast Telegraph Business Awards: Recognising the dedication of the best companies in NI

By Brenda Morgan

British Airways is committed to supporting the growth of businesses across Northern Ireland.

At British Airways, supporting local business excellence and growth is of key importance for the airline, so we are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the prestigious Belfast Telegraph Business Awards for the third consecutive year.

As the most respected awards ceremony in Northern Ireland, these awards provide British Airways with the perfect opportunity to recognise the success demonstrated by companies in major areas of business life including export, marketing, innovation and service provision.

With more than 90 years' expertise as a leading global airline, British Airways is committed to serving the local business community and these awards allow British Airways to acknowledge the outstanding performances of Northern Ireland companies.

The dedicated approaches that companies display for doing business both efficiently and successfully really are inspirational and deserve to be recognised. These attributes play a vital role in the continued economic growth and prosperity of the Northern Ireland marketplace - particularly given the testing economic conditions that companies continue to work within.

Belfast City to London Heathrow is an important route for British Airways and crucial to the local economy. The service also provides connectivity for local business passengers and cargo traffic to the airline's extensive global network of almost 130 destinations worldwide from London Heathrow - essential for the continued development of business, commerce and tourism.

Business passengers can choose from up to six flights a day from Belfast City to London Heathrow with a wide range of departure times to facilitate the needs of all our customers, whether for day trips or for longer stays.

In addition to this, we also recently announced that our Belfast City flights will now be arriving into Terminal 5 at London Heathrow, rather than Terminal 1. The move means that our business customers will now find doing business easier than ever before. Customers will benefit from smoother and quicker connections through the airport to onward British Airways flights, with connection times reduced to 60 minutes, as passengers will not have to travel between terminals. Business passengers arriving into Terminal 5 and travelling into central London for business will have easy access to the frequent and fast Heathrow Express service into Paddington Station.

Finally, we'd like to encourage all businesses to take time and enter the 2015 Business Awards. We had some great entries last year and are looking forward to seeing the high calibre of nominations this year. Not only will well deserved success at the event provide a strong platform to highlight the merits of your own business, but the awards ceremony itself also serves to emphasise the strength of Northern Ireland businesses.

British Airways wishes you every success with your entries to the awards.
