The Belfast Telegraph has scooped an international marketing award.
It picked up a prize at the International Newsmedia Marketing Association Awards (INMA) in New York last week in the ‘Print Single-Copy Sales Under 75,000’ category for its transfer test papers supplement.
Second and third places went to Diario de Noticias of Portugal and A Critica from Brazil.
The practice transfer test papers were offered as hard copy or were downloadable from the Belfast Telegraph website and allowed pupils to have a trial run at the exam which determined their entrance to certain schools.
More than 200 media executives from around the world attended the awards at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in the city.
In total INMA unveiled 91 first place, second place, and third place recipients across 10 categories and three circulation groups to recipients from 72 newspapers in 21 countries.
The 76-year-old awards generated 550 entries from 143 market-leading newspapers in 30 countries.
Judging was done by an international panel of industry experts involved with media companies, advertising agencies and trade magazines. Judges came from the United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, Canada, India, Italy, Poland, Russia and Spain.
Overall Best of Show winner was a joint corporate social responsibility campaign by The Times of India and the Jang Group of Pakistan.
