Beware of geeks bearing gifts for next Christmas
Yuletide 2011 is a long way off - but the contents of next Christmas's stockings for business people will be mulled over at an event in Last Vegas this week.
The International Consumer Electronics Show is a platform for technology companies to showcase what they hope will become must-have devices.
In recent year, the items launched into public consciousness at the event have included high-definition tellies and Microsoft's Xbox.
Yet it seems there won't be any shocks at this year's event, with 'more of the same' the dominant theme.
That's likely to mean 3D and internet-linked TVs, as well as tablet computers and new smartphones.
Yet Apple makes itself conspicuous by its absence and avoids the event. That's likely to make its next gadget even more desirable.
