A Co Londonderry firm has won a major supply deal with UK department store chain John Lewis.
The contract to design and manufacture blinds for skylights will mean the creation of 10 new jobs at Bloc Blinds in Draperstown, which already employs 45 staff.
The firm had previously focused on trade business – but the new deal to supply John Lewis marks its first entry into the retail consumer market.
Managing director Cormac Diamond said that the company had worked hard to develop innovative products over the years.
"As our first step onto the high street we wanted to ensure that we looked for the right retail opportunity, one that would appreciate our high level of innovation, and I'm pleased to say John Lewis saw our potential," he said.
"This is a great opportunity with a national retailer and this valuable product recognition gives Bloc the perfect platform to develop its innovative product range going forward."
Bloc Blinds will supply John Lewis customers with cordless blackout skylight blinds and its 'Fabric Changer' product.
