Board ban for former boss of haulage firm

By Staff Reporter

A former company director has been banned from the boardroom for 14 years after his firm went bust owing debts of £1.2m.

Trevor Warde (69), of Cloverdale in Newry, was barred because of his conduct while director of road haulage business Trevor Warde Groupage Services.

The Department for the Economy said the business, which operated from Tandragee Road in the Co Down city, went into liquidation on May 23, 2014, with an estimated total deficiency of £1,189,949.

Mr Warde was barred from serving as a company director for 14 years because of a number of issues.

They included breaching a company directors disqualification, causing and/or permitting the company to carry out fraudulent activities and "personally enriching himself by lodging monies into his personal bank account of at least £1,306,773 and potentially up to £1,464,470".
