C&C in cautious trading update before its AGM
C&C, the makers of Magners cider, issued a cautious trading update ahead of its AGM which took place yesterday. The AGM trading statement does not contain any volume data. However, the company - which owns Tennent's NI - says underlying trading to date across core markets has been "satisfactory" and in line with management expectations.
In Scotland, against what the group said was a "flat market", its main brand Tennent's gained market share, while its premium and craft brands also performed well.
However in Ireland, the company described market trade as "subdued" with beer and cider segments recording declines.
The company is led by chief executive Stephen Glancey.
