Coach firm beats the field for Olympics contract

A County Antrim coach firm has won a contract to provide transport for athletes during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Logan Executive Travel which employs over 60 people has added 40 vehicles to its fleet which will arrive next April and undergo refits to include entertainment systems and kitchenettes.

As well as the £750,000 Olympics contract, the company has secured a further £250,000 worth of new business following the expansion. Details of the new contracts are yet to be announced.

The company will customise its new fleet to accommodate the needs of its athletic customers.

After the Olympics, Logan's hopes its expanded fleet will accommodate its 100,000 annual tourists.

Funding for the new fleet came from Northern Bank. Sean Logan, proprietor and managing director of Logan's said: "We're very proud to have shown that we can deliver a top-quality service to top-quality athletes."
