Company wins £500k order from Middle East

An ARMAGH company has won business worth £500,000 in the Middle East.

Concrete Batching Systems won the contract to supply machinery to a precast concrete manufacturer in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Established in 2009 by managing director Kyle Ferris, a design engineer with experience in the concrete production industry, the firm specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of turnkey concrete batching plants and mixing systems.

The company sells over 90% of its machinery to customers outside Northern Ireland, including Libya, Africa, Sudan and Nigeria.

The announcement was made at the Gulf Markets Tour market showcase in Belfast, organised by UK Trade and Investment and Invest Northern Ireland.

Bryan Irwin, sales director of Concrete Batching Systems, said that diversification and flexibility is key to export success and while the company was small, the development means definite potential for new jobs.

"What we offer is a total turnkey service," he added.
