Consultancy firm's new websites to meet business demands

By Heather McGarrigle

A Belfast-based social enterprise business has launched two new websites this week, as part of an £11,500 IT investment.

Gauge acts as a consultancy firm, assisting a range of companies across Northern Ireland, the Republic and the UK to measure the social, economic and environmental impacts of their work.

It has re-launched the updated site for its clients in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, as well as launching for organisations in the Republic.

Business development manager Seamus Carlin says spending cuts have led to an increase in demand from businesses.

He said: "The need to measure the value created for every pound and euro invested in organisations is increasingly becoming the norm when evaluating the impacts and sustainability of programmes and initiatives."

Belfast-based Avec Solutions were commissioned to carry out the £5,000 redevelopment of Gauge's website, described as "part of a wider investment in technology software development".

The company has also recruited a University of Ulster graduate to help develop a software tool to provide impact reports for clients.
