Cosmetics firm to open first shop counter

By Rachel Martin

Cosmetics company BPerfect has stuck a deal with Northern Ireland's largest locally-owned pharmacy group to launch its first cosmetics counter.

The Belfast firm was founded by Co Down man Brendan McDowell - brother of former Miss NI Leanne McDowell - in 2014 with just an initial £500.

The new 4m, floor-to-ceiling counter at MediCare's Forestside branch will showcase the full range of BPerfect Cosmetics, including its Ten Second Tan, semi-permanent eyebrow stencil kit and 'brush on' eyelashes as well as two new products scheduled for launch later this year.

Brenda Collins from MediCare Forestside said BPerfect had already become one of the pharmacy's top-selling brands.

"At MediCare we are keen to help foster talent shown by young entrepreneurs like Brendan McDowell, who are doing fantastic work developing products like the BPerfect range," she added.

"We ourselves are a local brand, with a commitment to serving our local communities."

It comes just two months after Brendan secured €80,000 (£69,826) on RTE's Dragons' Den to grow the brand internationally.
