Digital technology firm to create four new jobs after contract wins

By Heather McGarrigle

Belfast-based digital technology company biznet IIS are celebrating a triple win, picking up two six-figure contracts and an industry excellence award.

The two contracts, with a government and tourism organisation, will see four new jobs created immediately.

Along with Dublin Bus, biznet IIS won the award for Best IT Project of the Year (Public Sector) at the ICT Excellence Awards in Dublin - known as the 'Irish Technology Oscars'.

The firm have been working with Dublin Bus for nearly three years, overhauling their online strategy which incorporated the complete rebuild of their web portal.

New features such as interactive journey planning have recently been launched, and the firm is currently in the process of delivering Dublin Bus' first iPhone and Android apps.

Adrian Bradley, managing director and founder of biznet IIS said: "This is a great accolade for our company and acknowledgement of our expertise.

"It shows that the Northern Ireland IT industry can compete and win against the best. We are proud to have put a score on the board, as in the past few years Northern Ireland companies have not been very successful in these awards."

Originally founded in November 1997, the company now employs 30 full-time staff.
