Drivers ditch cars for bus and trains

A leading UK bus and train operator has reported a surge in passenger numbers as more motorists ditch their cars due to sky-high petrol prices.

The chief executive of Newcastle-based Go-Ahead, Keith Ludeman, said the public was "struggling" with the current high levels of fuel pricing.
