Eco-friendly group secures £3m export business

A Co Down manufacturing firm has achieved £3m worth of new export business over the next three years, creating 12 new jobs.

SipFit Ltd from Warrenpoint invested nearly £844,000 in the expansion, including £121,800 of support from Invest NI.

The firm has already secured over £500,000 worth of new business in the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain as a result of this investment.

Established in 2009, SipFit specialises in manufacturing eco-friendly structurally insulated panels (SIPs) for the construction industry, used to build walls and roof structures.

The company has invested in new software systems and equipment to boost competitiveness and operational capacity and 12 new staff members have been recruited.

Mark Bleakney, manager of Invest NI's southern regional office described SipFit as a "highly innovative company".

He said: "This substantial investment will support the future growth of the business and enable SipFit to take full advantage of the rising demand for its eco-friendly panels."
