Edinburgh coup for developers
Belfast based developer Deramore Property Group has awarded the construction contract on a major project in Edinburgh to fellow Northern Ireland firm Gilbert-Ash.
The £35m, eight-storey hotel and retail development on Edinburgh’s iconic Princes Street will have views over Edinburgh Castle.
The contract involves the partial demolition of existing listed buildings, to make way for a new three-storey store for New Look and a 97 bedroom hotel.
Director of Deramore Property Group, Darren Lonergan, said: “Despite the challenging economic times, we look forward to working closely with Gilbert-Ash and our design team to deliver this exciting development.
“This scheme is the first major development on Princes Street for many years and is set to provide an excellent new building to compliment the Council’s ‘String of Pearls’ concept.”
