Export cash to bear fruit for Orchard County firm
A Co Armagh drinks company is hoping to move into new markets in North America, Europe and Great Britain.
The award-winning Armagh Cider Company was founded in January 2006 by Philip and Helen Troughton, whose family has grown apples in the Orchard County since 1898.
The company now sells Carsons Crisp and Maddens Mellow ciders in more than 340 outlets in Northern Ireland and also produces a non-alcoholic pure apple juice, AJ Apple Juice.
With support from the £50m Growth Loan Fund – which provides finance to established Northern Ireland SMEs seeking to access growth finance – the firm is buying a tunnel pasteuriser, enabling an increase in product turnaround and efficiency.
Helen said the finance allowed the firm to buy new machinery to meet growing demand.
