Ex-Rank casinos boss Mark Jones named as new Goals Soccer Centres chief
Goals Soccer Centres has appointed former casino boss Mark Jones as its new chief executive as it attempts to turn around flagging UK sales.
Mr Jones joins from Rank Group, where he headed up Grosvenor Casinos, the biggest casino operator in the UK. The 55-year-old has also held roles at Mecca Bingo and was chief executive of Yates Group.
"Whilst the company has experienced its recent issues, it remains an excellent business with significant potential both here in the UK and in the US," Mr Jones said.
In March, the five-a-side specialist reported a full-year £6.2 million pre-tax loss, its first in 12 years, and scrapped the dividend, blaming cheaper competition.
Mr Jones replaces Keith Rogers, who is now in charge of the growing US business.
