Firms told to access cash help

Businesses have been urged to seek out how to get grant support at the BDO conference next Thursday.

Partner at business services firm BDO, Angela Reavey, says the seminar is an opportunity for companies to take stock of the different sources of financial help which are still available.

"Unfortunately there seems to be no immediate prospect of recession ending and local businesses are in need of an injection of funds," she said.

"There is a perception that the business support mechanisms have moved away from direct financial assistance in recent years and while this is true to an extent, some grants are still available.

"This seminar seeks to set out the range of grants, particularly from Invest NI and the UK Technology Strategy Board, where uptake in Northern Ireland could be increased.

"It will consider the various forms of support, eligible costs, and provide tips on how best to secure and maximise funding."

The breakfast seminar will take place on Thursday September 29, 2011 at 8am at the BDO Office in Callender Street, Belfast. There is no charge for attending.
