First chance to see Crumlin Road Courthouse hotel plans

By Staff Reporter

People will have the chance to examine fresh plans to turn the former Crumlin Road Courthouse into a luxury 150-bedroom hotel. Developer Lawrence Kenwright says he will invest £25m in turning the derelict building in north Belfast into the city's latest hotel.

It's one of at least four hotels he is planning across Belfast, including one with a George Best theme.

His company, Signature Living, is hosting pre-application events at Crumlin Road Gaol. The firm says its proposal includes "planning for listed building consent to change the use of the existing courthouse into a luxury hotel, with ancillary uses such as spa, pool and function space".

The events will take place on July 17 and August 17, and will run between 10am and 8pm.
