Furnishing firm rolls out expansion plan with Invest NI aid

A CO LONDONDERRY furnishing business is branching out into Great Britain, the Republic and across Europe.

Alison Campbell Soft Furnishings in Limavady, a family business at the town's Tradewinds Centre, manufactures Roman blinds, made-to-measure curtains and coordinating accessories.

The firm is marketing products through the development of its e-commerce website and attendance at exhibitions for the home furnishings industry, particularly in Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland and the rest of Europe.

Invest NI has offered assistance of £5,000 towards the company's projected marketing costs of £12,500 and has assisted the company with mentoring guidance and advice.

Managing director Alison Campbell currently employs four people and says that demand for products is high.

"Invest NI's guidance and assistance has been immensely important. The support is enabling me to move the business forward faster than would have been possible if I had to depend solely on my own resources."

Des Gartland, manager of Invest NI's office in Londonderry, said: "Our assistance is focused on assisting the company to expand its e-commerce services, and also to use targeted trade exhibitions abroad to increase awareness of the quality products that it now offers customers."
