Global leaders attract thousands to digital showcase

Around 8,000 people from the worlds of culture and business are expected to attend a showcase of digital technology in Londonderry this week.

CultureTECH, which runs from Wednesday to Saturday, will feature digital innovations from advertising and marketing tools to music synch sessions.

Entrepreneurs, start-ups and those hoping to improve their business can join workshops and network with companies at the forefront of digital technology.

The event is run by Digital Derry and is supported by Derry City Council, whose chief executive Sharon O'Connor said: "The calibre of individuals and companies involved in CultureTECH stands testimony to the reputation already established by the city as being at the forefront of digital media and communications."

Mark Nagurski, digital champion for Derry, said: "The main conference is aimed at anyone who wants to learn more about digital media, and how to use that knowledge to enhance their business or creative projects. But the wider festival is for anyone, any age and from any background who loves music, film, gaming or art."
